Santa Catalina

So after I made some new friends in Panama City it was time to move on.... with the 'A' Team of course. We got to Santa Catalina in the pouring rain and made a mad dash to Rollo's - a place right in town which wasn't too shabby, in-fact probably a bit too clean cut for our new crowd of trouble makers. So we brought 150 Balboa's and kicked off proceedings.

We got some sunshine in the morning so after a quick surf at playa Estero, we met a french guy named Yann, who had recently set up a hostel (Surf Point - http://www.santacatalinasurfpoint.com/) and actually saved me from a Diabetic Hypo and Jamil from a overdose on cleaning agent (he thought it was Berocca - without the bb bounce). So we decided we would head back and bunk down there.... actually a big ask since there were now 12 in our party.

For the first 5 days or so it rained cats n dogs, and the swell was not too desirable - but we made our own fun, it usually started with a trip into town, the purchase of a fish or 10 from our man Tony Montana, then we would clean out the pub and the corner shop of every Balboa they had, which was actually a achievement in itself as the beers come as individual cans, we would need to form a line from the fridge to the counter, but believe it or not we managed.

We had a night at surfpoint where all the staff got into the action too, Yaan and his wife brought out the Masks, and we made the trademark Beer Bong and things really got wild. There was even an incident with kiel which involved a girl a collapsed bunk bed onto one of the boys who was unfortunate to not be noticed when they jumped on top.

We managed to finally get some waves and get off the turps after a few days and there was even a time that we had to pull a car out of the river in return for 6 cartons of cerveza of course. After about 10 days we managed to pull the team together for the much needed dance floors of 'Bocas Del Toro' on the panamanian Caribbean coast. stay tuned.
